Microsoft Defender for Business, the new Microsoft security solution, will be integrated into Microsoft 365 Business Premium on March 1, 2022, at no additional cost. Microsoft 365 Business Premium thus becomes the most complete productivity and security solution for your SMB customers.
Here is an overview of Microsoft Defender for Business features:
Microsoft Defender for Business really enhances the existing capabilities of Windows Antivirus in Microsoft 365 Business Premium. Its objective is to protect terminals against computer attacks, in particular malware and ransomware, but also ensures the detection of malicious activities. This protection applies to:
- Workstations or servers, on Windows, macOs,
- iOS and Android Mobile devices.
- Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop
It’s a powerful tool that gives small businesses protections that were, until now, only available to large corporations.
Threat and vulnerability management: – Helps proactively build a secure foundation for the business environment.
Attack surface reduction: – Reduces the attack surface (places where the business is vulnerable to cyberattacks) on devices and applications.
Next-generation protection – Helps prevent and protect against threats at the front door with anti-malware and antivirus protection, on devices and in the cloud.
Endpoint detection and response (EDR) – Detection and response alerts help identify and remove persistent threats.
Automated investigation and remediation – Allow you to focus on more sophisticated threats.

It offers simplified setup and management with intelligent, automated investigation and remediation. Using Microsoft 365 Business Premium, you can quickly onboard existing devices from Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
